Smart work is the answer to all chores in monsoon, especially laundry for which we worry the most. Tropical climate with loads of humidity , makes it difficult though, but not impossible. You need to find out ways to manage laundry and practice segregation and prioritizing based on need. Those clothes which are needed on a daily basis must be washed first such as school uniform, office uniform (if any) etc, and dried quickly. The clothes which are barely worn must not be put to wash to add up your worries or yet clothes which can be used further after the first wear, must be worn twice or thrice as per weather conditions without compromising too much on hygiene.  Here are some of the ways to dry your clothes fast in rainy season

Make the best use of your room heater

Most Oldies require room heaters during winters and almost every household has that. Staying in tropical climate, it is mostly not needed. Washing your clothes and leaving them overnight with the room heater on actually works. Since rainy season also sees the multiplication of bacteria and fungus over food and clothes, drying your clothes in room heaters also prevent them from musty smell which is caused by accumulation of bacteria. Wearing crisp clothes will also feel like a blessing in disguise especially during monsoons.

Iron your clothes

We are quite sure everybody has gone through a situation when you really need to head out of home yet get no proper clothes to wear since most of them have partially dried. Your iron works the best in such a situation. Believe us!! You would get crispier clothes at the end of it. Though not a permanent solution, but just enough to pass you through the difficult phase of rainy season.

Pick and Choose

That means to only choose to wash clothes which are most needed. It’s best not to choose wear heavy or thick material in monsoon. Clothes which can be used more than once should be used likewise. Chiffon, silks and georgette gets easily dried and must be there in your wardrobe to be used during monsoons. Men can choose to wear light cotton shirts which can even be shadow dried.

Shadow Drying

The sun is hardly visible during rainy season, and rainfall becomes an unwelcomed guest. Use your washing machine to dry your clothes to the maximum, and then dry them in shade. If dried well inside washing machine, then getting fully dried shouldn’t take much time. Again you can also leave them under ceiling fan overnight, and iron them if needed later.

Summary

Mostly avoid piling up clothes. Make your deodorant your best friend. Never forget to carry your deo, during rainy season, because there’s absolutely no guarantee of when you might end soaking up in rain. That musty smell should not lower your self esteem.
